Oluwadamilola Grillo is a Gerontologist and the Founder of Hold The Age Enterprise, an advocacy center for the plights of older adults in Nigeria. She has a B.Sc. in Sociology and worked in organizations with different capacities while building her career. As the programme officer at Center for Growth and Development where she committed herself to the plight of older women that carry groceries at markets in Ibadan, an empowerment initiative of the center by providing mini provision stores at their homes. As a result, she was able to ease the burden of daily tasks for these women. As a volunteer at Divine Senior Citizens Palace, one of the foremost Old People’s homes in Ibadan is always ready to perform her duties with a main goal of making the clients happy. Her passion for older people made her to pursue a Masters in Gerontology and Ageing Studies at the Centre for Innovative Ageing, Swansea University in Wales, United Kingdom under the distinguished Chevening scholarship of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Oluwadamilola established Hold The Age with DeeGee, an awareness program reaching out to older adults about their experiences after retirement, their health status and how the Nigerian Government can make life easier and comfortable for them. A member of British Gerontology Society, where she keeps herself up to date on ageing trends and also takes courses from American Society of Aging, MOOC , University of Tasmania Australia, to name a few. Of particular interest to her are courses on Dementia and overall mental health of older adults. She runs a blog to educate people on the ageing process.
